Elizabeth Kennedy is the children's book guide on About.com. She maintains a list of Children's Picture Books Adults Will Love. I recommend that you check it out. I would also suggest a couple of other adult-friendly picture books:
- George and Martha: The Complete Stories of Two Best Friends by James Marshall. This book was given to me recently by my wonderful friend Liz.
- Eloise by Kay Thompson. This book was given to me years ago by another friend, Christina.
- Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak
- The Complete Adventures of Curious George by Margaret and H. A. Rey
But I have to admit that I don't spend a lot of my time reading picture books (I've progressed to at least a fourth-grade reading level), so I don't know what else to recommend. I would welcome your feedback and suggestions of picture books that adults can read over and over again without going crazy.
