I would like to take this opportunity to say Happy Mother's Day to my wonderful Mom. She bought me books from the time that I was very small, and still sends me book care packages today. She taught me to love books by example, and for that I'll always be grateful. She also supported me selflessly when I wanted to go away to college, and never made me feel guilty about it, even though I was 800 miles away. And the day that I graduated from Duke, 17(!) years ago today, was one of her happiest days. Most of all, she gave me a secure family, while raising me to be independent. Thanks, Mom! And have a wonderful Mother's Day.
Happy Mother's Day, also, to Mheir's mother, Mary, who treats me like a daughter, and makes me feel loved. And Happy Mother's Day to my friends who are mothers: to Liz, and Ledi, and Deana, to Susan, and Caryn. To Diane, and Alex, and Sara, and Lauren, and Ellyn. To Maria, and Beth, and Marie, and Alison. To my blog friends who are mothers, too. And to whoever else I'm forgetting. And last but definitely not least, to Ani and Larain, and Mheir's and my cousins and aunts. Happy Mother's Day to you all!
