:) On my bedside table, I have the latest Rick Riordan book... It's amazing that he has taken so much of his real life and has immersed it in mythology and fantasy, and wow - he's got kids reading and -- he's just amazing. I am still gobsmacked that he wrote for adults, and have been planning to seek out his mysteries since you talked about them.

Great interview!!

Kris B

Thanks, Jen. Excellent, excellent! This is the interview I've been waiting for. What a neat guy. My youngest son is a huge fan; I'll let him read this next. And then I'll have to listen to him count down until May 2008 - much like Christmas. How cool is that?

Jen Robinson

Thanks for the feedback, TadMack and Kris. T, I'll be interested to hear if you like Rick's adult titles. And Kris, I love the idea of your son counting down to the next Percy Jackson book, like it was Christmas. That's awesome!

I am very grateful to Rick for taking the time to send such great responses.

Vivian

I love the Percy Jackson books and what Rick has to say about encouraging reluctant readers. What a great interview, Jen.

Michelle Brownlow

As an aspiring children's author I was SO excited to happen upon your blog, of which I will be bookmarking!

Thanks for this GREAT interview!

How fun to get inside the head of such a WONDERFUL writer!!

Jen Robinson

Thanks for the feedback, Vivian and Michelle. Vivian, I love Rick's thoughts on reluctant readers and award winning books and all things related. I read his blog, where he periodically talks about such things - I tried with the interview to get it all in one place. And Michelle, I'm happy that you found my blog. And I hope that Rick's thoughts help you in your writing. Thanks for visiting!

Camille

Super duper interview, Jen. I have to say the question about HIS cabin was brilliant. I do not think I've ever seen anyone else ask that before.

He has the BEST answers too. I loved his answer about music and ambrosia.
What a ROCKSTAR!

Jen Robinson

Thanks, Camille! I tried to keep the questions interesting. Glad you liked the cabin one. I feel very lucky to have such great responses!

"Ambrosia would taste like fresh corn tortillas with a little butter and homemade salsa." There's a Texan after my own heart...
This is such an awesome and inspiring interview, Jen! Thanks...

Jen Robinson

That's the response of a true Texas all right. Thanks for the feedback, Liz. I really enjoyed the interview.
