Today I will be sending out the new issue of the Growing Bookworms weekly email newsletter. (If you would like to subscribe, you can find a sign-up form here.) The Growing Bookworms newsletter contains content from my blog focused on children's books and raising readers. There are currently 438 subscribers.
This week I have three book reviews (one picture book, one middle grade and one review of a two-book young adult series), two Kidlitosphere round-ups with links to useful posts from the past week, a Children's Literacy Round-Up, and an installment of my Reviews that Made Me Want to Read the Book feature. I also have a list of the books that I read in October, with links to my reviews. The only post from my blog not included in the newsletter this week is a post about some Halloween treats (kudos for the blog) that I received last week.
I don't know that I expect anyone in the US to actually read this today, given all of the excitement about the election. But if you've already voted (you have, right?), and you're looking for a diversion while waiting for the results, perhaps check out my review of First Dog Fala, about Franklin Roosevelt's dog. Or, if you want to immerse yourself in reasons to vote, don't miss the Blog the Vote round-up at Chasing Ray, organized by Colleen Mondor, Gregory K, and Lee Wind. Even a quick browse through the many thoughtful posts about reasons to vote is empowering.
Thanks for reading the newsletter, and for growing bookworms!
