Growing Bookworms Newsletter: December 2

Jpg_book007Today I will be sending out the new issue of the Growing Bookworms weekly email newsletter. (If you would like to subscribe, you can find a sign-up form here.) The Growing Bookworms newsletter contains content from my blog focused on children's books and raising readers. There are currently 473 subscribers.

This week's newsletter contains three book reviews (1 picture book and two young adult titles), this week's Children's Literacy and Reading Round-Up, and two posts with Kidlitosphere news. Ialso have a listing of all of the books that I finished reading in November. The only post from this week not included in the newsletter is one about a milestone that I reached on the blog: 5000 comments.

My reading has falled off a bit due to holiday preparations and movie-watching (Elf, The Santa Clause, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and Christmas Vacation, so far), but I'm currently very much enjoying Kristin Cashore's Graceling. I also read three Zack Proton books by Brian Anderson, and found those a lot of fun. What are you reading?

Thanks for reading the newsletter, and for growing bookworms.

5000 comments! Go, Jen!

Thanks, Jennifer! It is an amazing thing, this blogosphere.

How fun! What a contrast of holiday stories. Charlie Brown is probably my fave. Lucy: I never get what I want. CB: What's that? Lucy: Real estate. Cracks me up for more years than I'll publicly admit.

Yeah, Charlie Brown Christmas is pretty great, Terry. I like Sally: "All I want is what's coming to me. All I want is my fair share." It's amazing how timeless most aspects of the shows are.

I really love The Year Without a Santa Claus - we always save that one for closer to Christmas.
