This sounds like a wonderful book! I so enjoyed stories with my sons in which the characters were believable as these seem to be.

Anymore it seems that more and more books are full of unbelievable characters such as aliens and monsters. Do you see this trend? Why do you think this is?

With my children's book, "The True Adventures of Tip the Catahoula-Leopard Cowdog", I made sure to have a believable character - a cute little puppy who grows into a bull-scaring cowdog.

This book is definitely worth checking out, Barbara. I hope that you like it. As far as a trend of unbelievable characters in picture books, so, I wouldn't say that I've seen that. I've read 100 2011 picture books for the Cybils this month, and lots of them have believable characters that I think kids will be able to relate to. I'm seeing more multicultural and mixed race characters, too, which is a nice trend.
