Reading and More Reading
April 12, 2007
I'm traveling this week, and have only the tiniest bit of time tonight. But I did have to take a minute to tell you about a couple of things:
- Today is Drop Everything and Read Day, in honor of Beverly Cleary's birthday. 16-year-old actress Emma Roberts is this year's spokesperson, and she seems to be quite the readergirl!
- There's an all-new issue of The Edge of the Forest available, featuring reviews, warriors, interviews, teaching English in an International school, and the Cybils.
- The folks at Book Chronicle have announced the latest Litty award. This one is for best publishing lit blog, and goes to Joe Wikert's Publishing 2020 Blog. Runners up are Books, Inq. and Dewey Donation System. The next category is best children's literature blog. Personally, I don't know how anyone could ever choose the "best" - there are so many amazing blogs in this area. But Fuse #8, Chicken Spaghetti, Bildungsroman/Slayground, the Leaky Cauldron, and Jen Robinson's Book Page are all short listed. If you have input on that one, please go to the site to comment.
- And don't forget — submissions for the next Carnival of Children's Literature are due April 19th, with the Carnival to be held on the 21st. You can email me, or use the submission form.
