Kidlitosphere Conference Loot
October 10, 2007
I came back with lots of great stuff from the First Annual Kidlitosphere Conference, and thought that I would share the list with you all (click to enlarge the photo). I took four books with me, and was able to get them signed:
- Boy Toy by Barry Lyga
- Letters from Rapunzel by Sara Lewis Holmes
- Reconsidering Read-Aloud by Mary Lee Hahn
- Evolution, Me & Other Freaks of Nature by Robin Brande
I won a prize in the raffle - an amazing set of eight books, contributed by Faith Hochhalter, Children’s Book Buyer for Changing Hands Bookstore, on behalf of various publishers. Faith did an amazing job of talking up these books, and I was SO happy when I won one of several sets. Here's what was included:
- Softwire: Virus on Orbis 1 by PJ Haarsma (signed!)
- Softwire necklace with futuristic symbols
- The Search for the Red Dragon by James A. Owen (ARC)
- Runemarks by Joanne Harris (ARC)
- The Revenge of the Shadow King (Grey Griffins, Book 1) by Derek Benz & J. S. Lewis (signed!)
- The Fall of the Templar (Grey Griffins, Book 3) by Derek Benz & J. S. Lewis (ARC)
- Cool signed posters for The Revenge of the Shadow King and The Rise of the Black Wolf. They have illustrations of the cast of characters for each book on the back.
- Before I Die by Jenny Downham
- The Looking Glass Wars: Seeing Redd by Frank Beddor (ARC)
- Dragonhaven by Robin McKinley (not in the photo, because I loaned it to Maureen)
And I picked up a few other titles from the author event organized by Esme Raji Codell:
- Faeries of Dreamdark: Blackbringer by Laini Taylor
- Stranded in Harmony by Barbara Shoup
- Crush du Jour by Micol Ostow (ARC)
- That Girl Lucy Moon by Amy Timberlake (ARC)
- Righty and Lefty: A Tale of Two Feet by Rachel Vail, illustrated by Matthew Cordell (ARC)
I also acquired various postcards, bookmarks, and pins. And a fun pack of gumballs from Ruth Spiro. My favorite postcard was from Ellen Klages, because it was signed by Dewey (protagonist of The Green Glass Sea, and a cool girl if there ever was one). I still have to go through my other postcards, and add other titles to my to read list. You know, in case I run out of books.
