Growing Bookworms Newsletter: September 23
September 23, 2008
Tonight I will be sending out the new issue of the Growing Bookworms weekly email newsletter. (If you would like to subscribe, you can find a sign-up form here.) The Growing Bookworms newsletter contains content from my blog focused on children's books and raising readers. There are currently more than 380 subscribers.
This week I have four book reviews (one picture book, one middle grade, and two for young adults), three Kidlitosphere round-ups with links to useful posts from the past week, a Children's Literacy Round-Up, and an installment of my Reviews that Made Me Want the Book feature. I also have a short post linking to a guest article that I wrote about why I blog about children's books. Posts from this week not published in this newsletter include:
- An announcement from Random House about the release of Christopher Paolini's Brisinger.
- An announcement that I tied with The Well-Read Child as winner of the Best KidLit Blog, in last week's Book Blogger Appreciation week. Many thanks to those of you who took the trouble to vote for me!
- A thank you post to Amy, the organizer of Book Blogger Appreciation Week.
Reviews coming out over the next week include Dodsworth in Paris by Tim Egan, The Alchemyst and The Magician by Michael Scott, and The Patron Saint of Butterflies by Cecilia Galante. My blog will be relatively quiet this weekend, because I'll be attending the Kidlitosphere Conference in Portland. I hope to see some of you there.
Thanks for reading the newsletter, and for growing bookworms!
