Tonight I will be sending out the new issue of the Growing Bookworms email newsletter. (If you would like to subscribe, you can find a sign-up form here.) The Growing Bookworms newsletter contains content from my blog focused on children's books and raising readers. It is sent out once every two weeks. There are currently 1031 subscribers.
Newsletter Update: In this issue I have one book review (Jim Trelease's The Read-Aloud Handbook), two posts with Kidlitosphere news, two children's literacy round-ups, an announcement about a guest post that I did for Presenting Lenore's Dystopia February celebration, and an announcement about the Carnival of Children's Literature. I also published the list of books that I read in February (not included in the newsletter).
Reading Update: I had pretty light couple of weeks, reading-wise, probably because I spent quite a bit of time organizing and pruning my to be read shelves. The good news is that after looking through all of my books, and filtering down to the ones that I'm most interested in, I'm sure to be doing more reading and reviewing in the coming weeks.
- Liz Garton Scanlon (ill. Marla Frazee): All the World. Beach Lane Books. Completed February 18, 2010.
- Marilyn Kaye: Gifted: Out of Sight, Out of Mind. Kingfisher. Completed February 28, 2010.
- Charlaine Harris: From Dead to Worse (Sookie Stackhouse #8). Ace paperback. Completed February 23, 2010.
- Jim Trelease: The Read-Aloud Handbook: Sixth Edition. Penguin. Completed February 22, 2010. My review.
How about you? What have you been reading and enjoying? Thanks for reading the newsletter, and for growing bookworms.
